:bulletwhite: You're here!: Western or English Playday events; Gymkhana

Western or English Playday events, sometimes reffered to as Gymkhana or Mounted Games in England and parts of Eastern North America or O-Mok-See, the Blackfeet Native American for "Horse Games," in the West, are a collection of obstacle courses, relay races, and other fun events of skill that test both the rider and the horse.

:bulletwhite:Boot Race: On horse, the rider runs to a pair of boots, dismount, put on their boots, remount and ride back. First rider back wins.
:bulletwhite:Flag Race: The rider collects a flag from a barrel, gallops to a barrel on the far side of the arena, then runs back and places the flag back in the barrel. Fastest time winds.
:bulletwhite:Mad Mouse: An obstacle course of barrels and cones is set up for the horse and rider. Fastest time wins.
:bulletwhite:Bareback Dollar: A dollar bill is placed under the rider's leg whilst riding bareback. Last one to keep the dollar under their leg wins.
:bulletwhite:Pole Bending: Usually done with six poles, the horse and rider must weave between the polls to and from the starting line. Fastest time wins.
:bulletwhite:Egg and Spoon: Riders will hold a spoon in their mouth that holds an egg on the other end. They will then ride around the arena and the last one with the egg intact wins.
:bulletwhite:Key Hole Race: A key shaped pattern is drawn on the arena and the horse must run on the designated path without going over the keyhole or touching the outlines.
:bulletwhite:Apple Bobbing: Set up like a traditional clover-leaf barrel race, on the last barrel there is a bucket of apples submerged in water. While going around the final barrel, the rider must capture an apple or face disqualification. Fastest time wins.
:bulletwhite:Sack Race: Two horses, Two riders, Four barrels making a square, and once burlap sack that both riders must hold onto with one hand, and rein their horses next to each other all the way around one lap.
:bulletwhite:Keep Away: In this one, two riders will be on horse back, and trying to keep the other rider from getting the flag on the pole at their end of the arena. Riders may do anything to keep the other away as long as safety for the horses is concerned.
:bulletwhite:Keg Race, also known as "Down and Back" Racing: The same set up as Pole Bending, but with barrels or buckets rather than poles.
