:bulletblue: Horseback archery:bulletblue:
Also called 'Mounted archery'.
A bowman on the back of a horse, trying to hit his target while still being in control of his horse.
Mounted Archers are considered some of the best horsemen around, due of the fact they need to let go of the reins, shoot the target, and still be contact with their horse.

:bulletblue: Jousting:bulletblue:
Jousting is a medieval discipline, where knights stormed towards each other, holding a lance, trying the knock the other out of the the saddle.
That hasn't changed much - it's still trying to knock your opponent out of the saddle with a lance, while your horses storm towards each other.

:bulletblue: Polocrosse:bulletblue:
Polocrosse is a team sport, it's played outside. Polocrosse is the combination of Polo and Lacrosse. The objective of the game is to toss the sponge ball into the other team's goal. Each team has 6 players, and unlike Polo, a player can't switch horses (unless the horse was injured)

:bulletblue: Trekking :bulletblue:
Trekking is also called trail riding or hacking.
Trekking resembles Endurance; you ride in nature, long distances, sometimes over several days. While Endurance is more competitive, and arriving the first, Trekking is more about seeing nature, and arriving on the right time in the check-points.
Trekking is a bit more loose, and concentrates on sight seeing and just enjoying nature with your horse, is not as competitive, and you don't have to stop for a vet check at each camp site. Basically is camping on horseback  And while you also rely on stamina, trekking horses also have to be very mentally balanced and tolerant of all sorts of situations like traffic, various wild and domestic animals, well behaved so that they don't suddenly pick a fight with the horse next to you and so on.

:bulletblue: Dzhigit :bulletblue: :new:
Dzhigit, also spelled as djigit or jigit, is a word of Turkic origin which is used in the Caucasus and Central Asia to describe a skillful and brave equestrian.
The derived term dzhigitovka (or dzhigiting) means the special style of trick riding, which originated in the Turkman cultures of Caucasus and Central Asia, and is also popular with Russian Cossacks, who adopted it from the people of Caucasus. When performing dzhigitovka, the riders at full gallop stand up, jump to the ground and back to the saddle, pick up objects from the ground (such as coins, hats, etc.), shoot targets with various weapons, ride hanging on the side or under the belly of the horse and do other acrobatic feats.
Since the early 19th century dzhigitovka has been demonstrated in the circuses and horse sport competitions, and made its way to the popular Western culture, for instance Russian Cossacks demonstrated dzhigitovka as part of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. Dzhigitovka was also used in training of cavalry forces in the Russian Empire and USSR.
Dzhigitovka as a sport competition is performed on a horse galloping at the 360 m long and 10 m wide path. The exercises are divided into three groups by their complexity. Maximum points are given for exercises of the most complex third group. Dzhigitovka as a circus performance includes complex stunts usually performed by a group of riders.
Thank you RoseThornStables for bringing this one to my attention!! :D

:bulletblue: Competitive Trail :bulletblue:
Competitive Trail (also called Western Trail or Ultimate Trail), contrary to its name, is not just riding along a trail. In fact, it is much closer to an obstacle course and it tests the bond between the horse and rider. The object, rather than to pass through the obstacles flawlessly, is to show good horsemanship. Some common obstacles include: stuffed animals pulled by string in front of the halted horse; going up or down an embankment; barrel board pin wheel; going over a bridge; log dragging; opening and closing a gate; pick up a hat; labyrinth; passing through hanging vines; getting mail from a mailbox;  walk over tarp; weaving; and walking through a water trap. List of ACTHA obstacles, including descriptions, can be seen here: www.actha.us/obstacles
